Happy Final Countdown to Summer!

 I want to give everyone a heads up that this summer is jammed packed so try to get yourself on the schedule and try to cancel out as soon as you know you have to give others the spot. Remember you can always schedule yourself in an hour before the class or private but cancel yourself out 13 hrs before your class or Private.


I will be out of the studio June 6-8th then I will out July 1- 6. If you need an extension on your expiration date, please let me know, otherwise remember you have two months to complete your sessions.


Mat Classes is a great place to be during the summer! You can now buy 5 or 10 Sessions. Tuesday and Thursday 10am are for beginners or for special considerations. Thursday 9am is for those who are confident in the vocabulary of the Pilates exercises and firm in their modifications if they have them. Always remember that Mat Classes is for YOU! looking to the person to the right or left of you isn’t going to help YOUR body. Sure, if you don’t know what leg circles are, do a quick peek, but then get back into your body and follow the instructions:


press the body into the ground, back of the head, shoulder blades, hands pressing into the floor as well. One leg up toward the high diagonal or ceiling, opposite leg either in home position or long and straight out pressing into the floor. Make a small circle with the leg that’s up and feel the circle coming from the femur bone (thigh bone) in the joint, pelvis stays strong and stable. Could you see that in your mind? could you, do it?


When I first started Pilates that’s where I was started on the floor, doing the mat exercise to help me understand the body placements, breath, the spine to move onto the apparatus.

Client Highlight!

I want to give a shot out to a client. Just this past week I came to a moment with her during her Private that literally made me want to cry tears of joy! Some of you have come to me so broken down, I know what it’s like to be broken physically. It really messes with your psyche. It’s painful because we remember when moving through our body was easy and effortless...but as our wisdom begins to grow, we realize we’ve overlooked some physical elements that’s created pain, lack of movement and before we know it, we’re broken. Well, she was there when she first stepped foot into my studio and knowing how Pilates meet me right where I was, I knew it could meet her. As a year past, she came to decision to undergo a surgery, I fully supported it because I know from 20 years of working with bodies, she will number 1 not be in pain and number 2 when pain stops, you get to move again, freely!! After her first surgery and feeling freedom, she knew she had to have another...and then...ONE MORE! Yes! you counted right 3!!! surgeries...all new parts. The pain being eliminated, the lack of movement not being a factor any more, brought back a quality of movement. Oh gosh I’m eyes are swelling. Finally, after all of the HARD, Difficult work she has put in, her body is REALLY moving and the Pilates movements/exercises are really reshaping her. It is so beautiful to watch, experience and be a part of. Honestly, in some ways this new chapter is her new start.


Look, this didn’t happen overnight, in a span of one year or really even two years...it took over a lot of time, and as stated she isn’t even done...are we really ever done? should we be done? NO! Every BODY is on its own path and journey and as we go along, we learn deeper in the Pilates method, that makes us go deeper into our bodies. We find ourself stuck at a spot, we have to ask ourselves why? How can I get unbroken? How can I bring back or bring in movement to this part of the body? Don’t ignore it, face it and keep going.

What a fabulous Year for the studio. So many new faces came into the studio by way of Workshops, Privates and Mat Classes. If that was you, I hope you had a great experience here and we’d love to see back in. For those who are regulars here at Heidi’s Spot give yourself a pat on the back! You have come so far, more self body awareness, becoming stronger, having a better understanding of the Pilates method, getting out of pain and of course the BIGGEST part- YOU DID NOT QUIT!! You pushed past all the discomfort and hard stuff. You are more flexible, stronger, and more in control of your body. I am so proud of you and again, it’s what keeps me teaching. Seeing bodies change, finding new hope and the commitment that you put in makes me want to come along beside you and help meet your goals. Thank you again for trusting me to help you.  May you have a Wonderful Christmas and New Year with people you love.

The more you are thankful the more you can see things to be thankful for. In this season of Thanksgiving, I have to first start off with my Family. I am so thankful for my family’s love and support. We are in a really great season with our kids and it warms my heart that we seem to be seeing and being with each other more this past year. As the kids are growing up and doing their thing, Peter and I now can go and do our own thing. It’s like dating again, I am here for it. Pilates, oh man am I ever thankful for Pilates. After my injury back in July, I was so thankful that I now know a fellow instructor here that was able to mentor and train me. 3 Months later because of constant Pilates practice and doing my homework for my injury. It was as if it never even happened. You! I am so Thankful for you! For your trust in me with your Pilates practice, your commitment to your practice and to the studio and for your encouragement to me! Together, we can get your body feeling the best. Thank you again. I know life can throw us curve balls of disappointments and set backs, and maybe in a moment in time we need to feel that so that when we are done processing them, we can find the good and give thanks for where we end up. May you find thankfulness in your life not just today but every day. Happy Thanksgiving, Heidi

Remember to be nice to yourself while the schedules get busy, it won’t last forever. Be present and enjoy your time and company. If you need to take your Pilates with you, you can always book a Private online or join the Online Pilates Video Library Membership. First up Halloween! Let’s dress up. Hello Everyone If you were looking for perfect walking weather it is here and now! I have been enjoying my walks. My Body differently needs a good stretch and roll out after. I usually set my timer for the amount of time I have and I roll out my Quads, IT bands, hips and glutes. I don’t have to spend a lot of time, I mean I could, but a little goes a long way. Then I get my standard leg stretches in, Hamstring, IT band, hip and Quads. If I have extra time, I’ll do my calves as well. If I didn’t do these things, I would be feeling it later… The tightness would start and discomfort will set it. The enjoyable walk will something of past. Now because I cared for myself after, I know I’ll have a nice night’s sleep. We do Pilates because it teaches us how to care for ourselves.

Hello Everyone Do you remember…the twenty-first night of September…..Sorry, now that song is stuck in your head. But every September that is the FIRST thing that comes to mind LOL. Glad we have Pilates to chase our clouds away. I wanted to give you all the heads up as to what’s going on at Studio. First thing first, the studio will be closed on Labor Day Monday the 2nd. Second we have a Pilates with a Glass class on September 14th at 11:30am  Lastly, the studio will be closed September 18th and 19th. If you had a session scheduled on that date, I have taken it off and you will need to reschedule. If you need your expiration date moved out, please let me know, I give back the amount of time I am out back to you. If I charge your account, the expiration date has already been moved out. If you pay through Vagaro I can go into your account and move the date.

Hello Everyone Thank you so much for being flexible over those past summer weeks. Being a mom and a business owner has its schedule challenges at times so I thank you for your understanding. Here are some dates to remember : The studio will be closed August 5th -7th open back on the 8th Our last summer night Pilates with a Glass class is on August 8th at 6pm. Spot are already filling up so grab yours by Clicking Here . The studio will be closed September 2nd for Labor Day Saturday September 14th we are back on for Pilates with a Glass at 11:30 am.

Hello Pilates Enthusiast! Seriously I am asking myself where May went. My daughter’s schedule was and still is jam packed with activities back to back. Phew- June starts the busy time at the Pilates studio with young athletes coming in for their privates, time off and of course taking my daughter to her summer activities. I’m going to run down the summer schedule, but I will also send out quick reminders of them when we come up to them. Lastly, as always the vagaro schedule will be a true reflexion of my schedule, so if that day, time isn’t open, that is what that means. If I need to open up my Friday morning to accommodate schedules, I am open to doing that during the summer months. As always, if you need your expiration date pulled out due to my time off, please let me know. The clients whom I charge, has their expiration date pulled out since I know when I’m gone when I charge them.
